Since inception, we have had the privilege of meeting numerous companies and management. Occasionally, we encounter unique and exceptional companies along with their founders or management teams who are innovative and meet the demands of the times. At such moments, we feel the immense joy of discovering a diamond in a sand dune.
On the other hand, we have also witnessed the reality that many mid-cap companies face similar management challenges and are unable to fully realize their potential. We strongly believe that our mission as private equity investment professionals is to resolve as many of these management issues as possible and to support these companies reach greater heights.
Determined to fight a “Shingari” battle
When managing businesses, companies sometimes face unexpected crises and hardships. At such times, we are determined to hold our ground and confront the fundamental issues and to continue fighting in an effort to protect our portfolio companies from the crisis. The determination to fight to the end as the last line of defense (“Shingari”) in management. This is the fundamental philosophy of Sunrise Capital.

Our company name reflects our beliefs to empower numerous established domestic mid-cap companies to rise like the morning sun. The rising sun represents our portfolio companies, as well as its management and employees. We aspire to serve as the “unsung heroes” behind the growth of countless established domestic mid-cap companies.

Before executing investments, we reflect upon the core fundamentals of a business and thoroughly assess whether the products and services are essential to the world and society. We aim to be the first ones to be able to identify “innovative value” that may be deemed unconventional and fully support our partners who have the conviction and passion and strongly believe that it has “true value,” even if it has not yet been recognized. We strive to spearhead what will become the next norm in society.

Our policy is to share both success and risks through our joint venture type support, where we co-invest alongside our portfolio company owners. Sunrise Capital strictly focuses on deriving returns through capital gains by enhancing portfolio company value and does not seek consulting fees or dividends when providing management support, which we believe to be the true obligation of a fund. We aspire to be a true partner to our portfolio companies by sharing the same destiny and creating social value with the same passion as the companies we work with.
Reflecting our beliefs in the corporate logo
The logo expresses the attitude of the Sunrise Capital team members who are also willing to suffer hardship for the sake of their beliefs and their philosophy towards investments resembling the vigor and bravery of the military flag of the “Shingari”, which faced the opposite direction to defend the main camp from its adversaries.
Simultaneously the logo also illustrates our continued stance of supporting our business partners behind the scenes, including our portfolio companies, progressing side by side, which is expressed in the shape of the logo as light and shadow.
